Henry C. Deming papers, 1836-1847.

A collection of letters primarily written by Henry C. Deming to his mother and sister, both named Abigail. Deming was studying at Yale and Harvard when he wrote. An older letter was written by Deming's grandfather, Henry Champion, to his wife in 1758. Henry C. Deming was a native of Colchester, Connecticut. He held various elected positions in both state government and the US Congress. Additionally, Deming served in the Union Army during the Civil War.
